In Memory of John Ainley

Our Co-Founder and Managing Director

We are deeply saddened by the passing of John Ainley, our co-founder and Managing Director, who passed away on Saturday, 13th September 2025, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

We felt it was only right that John was remembered on this site, as he was instrumental in establishing The Ark Media and guiding it to become the business it is today. His vision, energy, and commitment helped set the foundations that continue to shape our values and direction. A larger-than-life character, well-known and respected across the media industry for over 30 years, John will be greatly missed by everyone at The Ark Media, as well as by our clients and partners.

Always smiling, supportive, and full of enthusiasm, John’s passion for his work inspired those around him to share his drive and creativity. To us, he will always be fondly remembered as “Big John the Bus Man”, a true friend, leader, and guiding force whose spirit will always remain part of The Ark Media.

John will be very sadly missed but fondly remembered.
